A Pittsfield man is was arraigned in Berkshire Superior Court on Wednesday afternoon on multiple charges, including drug trafficking according to the Berkshire County District Attorney's Office.

The office confirmed that 27-year-old Dennis Ducharme had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf for one count each of trafficking in heroin, trafficking in cocaine, conspiracy to violate drug laws, inducing or abetting a minor to to distribute a controlled substance and intimidation of a witness or other person.

Judge John Agostini ordered that Ducharme be held at the Berkshire County House of Correction on $100,000 bail.

According to the DA's Office, the charges stem from an ongoing investigation -- conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department, the Berkshire County Sheriff’s Office and state troopers assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, along with members of the Berkshire Law Enforcement Task Force -- into illegal drug activity in the City of Pittsfield. It is alleged that this occurred in May.

Currently, there is no word on when Ducharme will return to court.
