Monday was a gigantic day for Berkshire County baseball and softball teams in the Western Mass. tournaments.

In baseball action, Pittsfield High School continues to roll. The 10th seeded Generals used an 11-run seventh inning to take the lead and defeat East Longmeadow 14-4 to advance to the Western Mass. D-1 semifinals. Pittsfield will face Longmeadow Thursday afternoon.

Taconic High School got a complete game, two-hitter from Christian Womble, along with Austin Rachiele's 3 RBI to defeat Belchertown 6-1. The top-seeded Taconic will take on No.12 seed Easthampton Wednesday afternoon in the semi-finals.

Also making it to the D-III semi-finals was Monument Mountain, who defeated Southwick 6-1. They will take on Frontier High School on Wednesday afternoon.

In the Western Mass. D-II Softball tournament, Wahconah moved on to the semi-finals with a 10-1 victory over Frontier. They will take on Hoosac Valley on Thursday at UMASS, who defeated Greenfield 3-2 on Monday. Mount Greylock is moving on in the D-III tournament after a 6-5 gritty victory over Smith Academy. They will face the top-seeded Turners Falls on Wednesday.

Mount Everett made it look easy in their quarterfinal matchup with a 12-0 shutout over Gateway. They will move on to face McCann Tech Wednesday afternoon for a chance to play in the D-III Western Mass. finals.
