The Pittsfield Police Department, Pittsfield Fire Department, and County Ambulance all responded to the area of 233 Elm Street in Pittsfield on Tuesday afternoon for the report of a vehicle that had crashed into a building.

According to a press release from the police, a 2007 Ford Pick-Up truck operated by 26-year-old Alexander Colvin, or Pittsfield, was traveling west bound in the 240 block of Elm Street when he suffered an apparent medical emergency.

His vehicle left the roadway to the right and then collided with the front porch of a home at 233 Elm Street. The impact caused extensive damage to both the home and to Colvin’s vehicle.

Mr. Colvin was transported to Berkshire Medical Center with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. There were no other persons involved in the crash.

Elm Street, between Holmes Road and Ontario Street, had to be closed to traffic for approximately 2 hours for the investigation and wrap up and for clean up to take place.
