On July 27, 2019 at approximately 0956 hours, the Pittsfield Police Dept., Pittsfield Fire Dept. and County Ambulance responded to intersection of Columbus Ave and Center St for a report of a motor vehicle collision resulting in a roll over.

A 2009 Lincoln MKZ operated by Mr. Chester Soutier (40 yoa) of Pittsfield, was traveling east bound on Columbus Ave approaching the intersection with Center St when it collided with a north bound 2012 Hyundai Elantra operated by Ms. Jaime Adorno (35 yoa) of Pittsfield. As a result of the impact, the Lincoln was spun and then rolled onto the driver side upon a secondary impact with the south side curb of Columbus Ave.

The occupants of the Lincoln were trapped within the vehicle and freed by the Pittsfield Fire Dept. by mechanical means. Mr. Soutier along with his occupant were transported to BMC for injuries. Mr. Soutier was in critical but stable condition upon his admittance to BMC while his occupant suffered minor injuries. An occupant of the second vehicle was also transported to BMC for minor injuries.

Columbus Avenue was closed to traffic from North St to Center St for approximately 2 ½ hours as a result of the investigation.

This incident remains under investigation by the Pittsfield Police Department Accident Investigation Unit.
