The legacy of Cali Swag District lives on. On Tuesday night (Dec. 12), just moments after Democrat Doug Jones won the Alabama Senate seat over controversial Republican candidate Roy Moore, C-Span appeared to play the group's hit single,"Teach Me How to Dougie," after Jones gave a victory speech at a Sheraton Hotel in Birmingham, Ala. Considering everything that was at stake, this moment will probably become an indelible one—it's already a viral one.

In recent weeks, Moore had been accused of being a sexual predator, so this election, in the eyes of many, became a high-key battle for the soul of America. So, to a lot of people, Jones' victory means the good guys won the day. In his victory speech that preceded the playing of "Teach Me How to Dougie," Jones spoke of finding a common ground through shared humanity.

"At the end of the day, this—this entire race has been about dignity and respect," he explained. "This campaign—this campaign has been about the rule of law. This campaign has been about common courtesy and decency and making sure everyone in this state, regardless of which zip code you live in, is going to get a fair shake in life. And let me just say this, folks, to all of those—all of my future colleagues in Washington, to all -- I had such wonderful help."

He continued, "But I want to make sure, in all seriousness, there are important issues facing this country, there are important issues of health care and jobs and the economy. And I want to—I would like, as everyone in the entire probably free world knows right now, we've tried to make sure that this campaign was about finding common ground and reaching across and actually getting things done for the people."
