The North Adams Fire Department and National Grid crews responded to an area south of East Avenue in North Adams Sunday night around 7:00 PM after a call came in reporting a wire that was knocked down from a tree branch that fell on it. The wire was downed on Glen Avenue, which is just south of East Avenue.

Crews had to de-energize the line before anything else...
Power was lost in some surrounding areas while the North Adams Fire Department had to wait for National Grid to arrive and de-energize the line before anything could be done.

The street was temporarily blocked off...
The street was blocked by the North Adams Fire Department because of the dangerous situation. Power was expected to be restored at some point last night. The power outage map on the National Grid website this morning showed no current outages in the area.
