Members of the Pittsfield Police Department responded to the Mobil Mart located at 580 North Street in Pittsfield for a reported Armed Robbery Wednesday night. The robbery, at knifepoint, took place shortly before 8:30pm.

Officers arriving on the scene poke with the Mobil Mart clerk, who was unharmed during the incident. The clerk reported that the suspect came into the store with a knife and demanded the money from the cash register. The suspect, according to the clerk, reached over the counter and then grabbed an undetermined amount of cash before taking off on foot.

The suspect was described as a masked, white male, approximately 30 years of age, between 5’8”-5’10” tall, wearing a black coat with a hood. He was wearing black sneakers with white soles.

A Pittsfield PD K9 unit conducted a track of the area in which the suspect was last seen running, and members of the Pittsfield Police Department Detective Bureau and Crime Scene responded. Their investigation is ongoing. Surveillance video in the area is currently being reviewed.

The police department is asking for the public's help in providing any information that might be helpful in apprehending the suspect.
