Police in Pittsfield are searching for a suspect who they say shot another man Saturday night on Spring Street.

The Berkshire Eagle reports that officers responded shortly before midnight to a ShotSpotter activation and multiple phone calls of shots fired in the area of 54 Spring Street.

According to a news release from the Pittsfield Police Department Police, when police they arrived, they found a 38-year-old man with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Witnesses told police the suspect was a white male, about 6 feet tall and wearing a dark colored jacket. He was last seen fleeing southbound on Spring Street. A K-9 unit tracked the shooter and found a firearm and other evidence discarded by the suspect.
