Pittsfield Police Searching for Suspects in Pair of Labor Day Robberies
The Pittsfield Police Department Detective Bureau is investigating an Unarmed Robbery and an Attempted Unarmed Robbery at a convenience store gas station in the city and at a popular local eatery. Both of the incidents occurred yesterday, Monday, September 6th, according to the Pittsfield Police Department. The first incident happened in the early morning hours, while the second incident took place in the late afternoon.
According to information sent to the Berkshire News Network from Pittsfield Police Lieutenant Gary Traversa, department patrol units were dispatched to the Lipton Mart, located at 320 West Housatonic Street, at around 6:10 AM. The investigation into that incident revealed that an individual had entered the store, demanded money, and then got away with an amount of cash, the sum of which was either not known or not released.
The second incident, according to Traversa, happened at around 4:45 PM that same afternoon, with patrol units responded to Vong’s Restaurant, at 157 Seymour Street. The investigation at this location determined that an individual entered the restaurant and demanded money. None was turned over, and the individual fled on foot. No weapons were displayed, and one was injured during the commission of either crime.
