The "Pink Patch Project" is officially making its way to Pittsfield.

October is "Breast Cancer Awareness Month" and the Pittsfield Police Department have announced that they will be raising awareness by wearing pink on their uniforms.

"From the Chief on down to the Patrolman, several members of the department will be displaying pink patches pink badges and pink handcuffs on their uniform," says the PPD in a statement.

While the Pittsfield Police will be showing off their pink, you can help out as well. The PPD will be selling patches for $10 each -- if you pick one up at the station -- or $12 by mail. All money raised by the sale of the pink patches will be donated to Moments House in Pittsfield.
