With all that is going on in the world today… this story comes along just when we really need a good laugh.

It is being reported all over the internet now, but I was made aware of it Tuesday night. My former colleague, Megan Elizabeth (Meg Duley), who you may remember did news on our sister station LIVE 95.9 FM a few years back (now writing kickers for ABC News in New York City), sent me a Facebook message pointing it out.

Vermont State Police apparently responded to an unusual drive-by incident Monday at the Massachusetts state border in Vermont.

Boston.com is reporting that at around 6pm, a VTrans worker who had been working a detail on U.S. 7 in Pownal told state troopers that a passenger in a vehicle had thrown an object at him.

As it turns out, the object was later determined to be a large pickle! It's funny... but the worker said that it hurt, so maybe it wasnt so funny. (But it's still funny)

The Troopers, with assistance from police in neighboring Williamstown subsequently located the suspect vehicle and issued the alleged pickle-tosser, Christoph Herrmannsdoerfer, a citation.

According to police, the 34-year-old Herrmannsdoerfer will make an appearance appear in a Bennington court next month on a simple assault charge.

A happy smiling pickle giving an enthusiastic thumbs up
