I had the opportunity to talk with Melissa Baehr over at the Berkshire Community Action Council in Pittsfield to see how things are progressing with the Elf Warm Clothing Program which is a  program that provides new Winter Coats, Hats, Boots, Gloves, Mittens, etc. for families that meet income eligibility.

This wonderful program has been helping children here in Berkshire County for 37 years.

There are 200 children who still need sponsors and BCAC is looking for people or businesses to not only sponsor a single child but also think about sponsoring families because there are some Kids who have brothers and sister who also need need help this winter, so if you can help out by sponsoring more than one child in a family that would be great!

Donors can pick an anonymous child to sponsor, buy a warm winter coat and drop it off at the BCAC offices on East Street. Or they can sponsor a child by writing a check, and BCAC staff will go out and purchase the coat, hat, mittens and scarf.

If you would like to help in keeping children here in the Berkshires warm this winter contact Melissa at mbaehr@bcacinc.org or at 413-418-3658, you can also go by BCAC website to make a donation.

Last year The Elf Warm Clothing Program provided warm clothing to over 1500 children in Berkshire County.
