Shula, who won the most games of any NFL coach, led the Dolphins to the only perfect season in league history in 1972, going 17-0. That was when the NFL regular season only consisted of 14 games.

The Patriots have come the closest to topping the '72 Dolphins mark when they won 18 games in 2007 before losing to the New York Giants in the the Super Bowl.
