Kids that live in Pittsfield have plenty to do this summer thanks to the Pittsfield Department of Community Development Recreation Program.  The department announced a “Make Your Own Summer Fun,” filled with different activities over nine weeks that will rotate through city parks.

The wide variety of activities for kids include; Design Your Own Postcard/Stamp, Decorate Your Own Kite, Jumbo Croquet, Rock Painting, Gliders/Paper Airplanes, Make Your Own Bracelet, Soccer activities and many more.  The nine-week program begins next Tuesday June 29th with Make Your Own Book/Journal at The Common and wraps up with Foot Golf at Durant Park on August 26th.

Among the parks the activities will be hosted at include; The Common, Durant Park, Clapp Park, and Spring Park on Springside Ave.  If raining, events will likely be cancelled.  The Pittsfield Parks Recreation Facebook page will post information during inclement weather days.  Information of events and park locations are available also available through the FB page and through the City of Pittsfield website.

A couple of notes parents should be aware of…restroom facilities will not be available and an accompanying adult is recommended when a participant picks up materials or participates in a special activity. Below is the complete list of activities planned…
