George Floyd Update:Officers Have All Been Arrested (Audio)

Minnesota's Attorney General Keith Ellison yesterday increased the charge against Derek Chauvin to second-degree murder in the death of George Floyd. Chauvin had previously been charged with third-degree murder.

The previous charge of third-degree murder had a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison. The new charge carries a maximum sentence of 40 years behind bars.

Also, the three officers who were with Chauvin when he killed Floyd have finally been charged as well . . . Tou Thao, Thomas Lane, and J. Alexander Kueng are all facing charges of aiding and abetting second-degree murder.

Finally, the Minnesota Medical Examiner's Office in Hennepin County has released the full autopsy results for George Floyd. It found that Floyd died from a heart attack that was brought on by the police restraints. Also, meth and fentanyl were found in his system. And the autopsy report found that Floyd was positive for coronavirus, although it did not cite that as a factor in his death.
