Pittsfield Fire Honor Guard to Present Colors at Sunday’s Red Sox vs. Yankees Game
The Pittsfield Fire Department Honor Guard is heading to Fenway for Sunday Night Baseball.
In a Thursday night Facebook post, the PFD announced that the honor guard will present colors before the four-game series finale between the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees. The game will air live Sunday night on ESPN with the first pitch scheduled at 8:05.
Along with the announcement of their Fenway appearance, they revealed that they will be honoring late Deputy Chief Bruce Kilmer with the ceremony; an avid Red Sox fan.
"The honor guard will be marching onto the field in honor of the late Deputy Chief Bruce Kilmer who we lost suddenly nearly 4 years ago," stated the Pittsfield Fire Department in the announcement. "DC Kilmer was a truly honorable leader, mentor and brother in the PFD, spent many years working towards establishing an official PFD honor guard team and the fact that he was a highly dedicated Red Sox fan makes this trip all the more meaningful to all of us."
This will be sure to be a memorable moment for the Pittsfield Fire Department and we hope the entire City of Pittsfield, and all of Berkshire County, will be watching on Sunday night. Amazing stuff!
