Pittsfield Little League Registration is Underway. Boys & Girls Lets Play Ball!
As the start of spring is just over a week away, daylight is increasing every day, the birds are singing, and soon the grass will be turning green, and boys and girls will take to baseball fields throughout the Berkshires to play baseball.
Unlike the pros, the little leaguers and league officials had no problem coming to an agreement on the type of toppings to order on the opening day pizzas following the game. So, with no delay in the season or cancellation of any games…the boys and girls are ready to play some ball.

Pittsfield Little League is open to kids from 9 years old (by August 31st) to 12 years old (prior to August 31st). Boys and girls that live in Pittsfield, Lenox, Lanesboro, and Richmond are eligible to play in the Pittsfield league. There’s a total of 12 teams...6 in the American League and 6 in the National League. There is also a Triple-A league for kids 7 & 8 years of age.
Pittsfield has a AAA League for 7 & 8 Year Old Boys and Girls
Tryouts will take place sometime in early April depending on the condition of the fields. Soggy spring conditions could force the tryouts indoors. The exact date(s) will be announced soon. Kids that do not get selected for Pittsfield Little League will be placed on a AAA team.

This season there’s a title to defend by the 10-year-old American Team that won State Championship last year. They pulled off the exciting win in extra innings for the championship.

Equipment Tip:
A tip for keeping your baseball glove oiled and broken in from a former little league champion…I always rubbed a banana peel all over my glove before a game. It kept the leather soft, protected, and smelling great without being greasy. Plus, the banana gave me a great pick me up before the game. Give it a try.
