Pittsfield Police Holding Open Virtual Recruitment Tonight
If you have ever thought about becoming a police officer or working in law enforcement in a different capacity, your golden opportunity could be this evening when the Pittsfield Police Department holds its Virtual Open Recruitment.
According to MassHire, the Pittsfield Police are seeking motivated, eligible individuals who are looking for a rewarding and adventure-filled career, serving the citizens of Pittsfield. During tonight’s event prospective candidates will be able to navigate the department’s virtual booth and “chat” with police officers to learn more about open career opportunities.

Municipal Police Officer:
There are approximately 15 vacant positions to be filled from the Certified List in 2021 & 2022. The annual salary range for this position is roughly $43,000 - $127,000, and the current average patrol officer salary in all pay scales is just over $65,000.
Emergency Co-Responder:
This position requires a Master’s degree in Psychology or license eligible Social Work. Clinical Licensure is preferred.
Dispatcher:
Related experience or education is preferred for this position which carries a salary range as of July 1st of roughly $37,000 to $48,500.
