A 40-year-old Pittsfield woman has been arrested in Danbury, Connecticut.

Connecticut officials, via the New York Times, have confirmed the arrest of Shareen Tanna. On Tuesday, the Pittsfield Police Department gave notice to area officials to be on the lookout of Tanna, her three children, and possibly two others.

According to reports, Tanna took the children without permission and was heading to her new home in Rochester, New York in her 2003 Chevy Trailblazer. Connecticut State Police officers found Tanna and the children at a convenience store in Danbury, where she was arrested. Tanna faces charges of kidnapping minors by a relative and could be extradited back to Pittsfield

The silver lining in a terrible story is that the children were not harmed and, according to the AP, have been returned to their families.

Tanna was charged as a fugitive of justice and according to Connecticut radio station I95 Rock, she is being held on a $100,000 surety bond.
