The first round of new photoshoots in the city of Pittsfield by renowned photographer Gregory Crewdson has now concluded, and things look to have gone well so far. Crewdson has and will be continuing to stage a series of photoshoots at multiple locations throughout the city.

The first round of photoshoots got underway on Wednesday of last week (9/22) and wrapped up over the weekend on Sunday (9/26). So far, photoshoots have taken place under the railroad bridge on Mill Street, at the former Jim’s House of Shoes on North Street, at the former Lach’s Lounge on Fenn Street (see this article header photo), and at the Fourth Street Bridge.

The photoshoots have generally been day-long affairs, with what seemed to be a good size production crew on hand. The schedule between setting up and wrapping for the day generally ran from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM for each shoot. There was a necessity for various road closures throughout the schedule of shooting to keep vehicles clear of the filming.

The entire schedule of the photoshoots is expected to continue through early-to-mid October. An additional schedule for the second round of photoshoots will be provided for the second phase of filming soon.

It’s likely that we will be getting a press release from the office of Pittsfield Mayor Linda Tyer soon with a listing of the upcoming shooting locations, times, and road closures for the second round of photoshoots soon.

After seeing some of the shoot sets around the city, we can anticipate that the results of this latest Crewdson photo project will very interesting.
