The candidate list for the city of Pittsfield is now official and it’s a full slate of races.

There are four candidates running for Mayor including incumbent Linda Tyer, retired police officer Karen Kalinowski, Councilor at Large Melissa Mazzeo and Scott Graves, who owns the Rusty Anchor.

There are eight candidates running for four Councilor at Large seats. They are Alexander Blumin, Yuki Cohen, Jay Hamling, Auron Stark, Richard Latura, and incumbents Peter Marchetti, Earl Persip and Pete White.

The city’s seven City Council wards have 15 overall candidates. There are races in all but two wards.

In Ward 1, incumbent Helen Moon is being challenged by Kenneth Warren.

In Ward 4, incumbent Chris Connell is being challenged by Michael Merriam.

It’s a three-way race in Ward 5 to fill the seat being vacated by Donna Todd Rivers. The candidates are Patrick Kavey, former ward councilor Jonathan Lothrop, and Eugene Maselli.

There’s a four-way race in Ward 6 between Dina Guiel Lampiasi, Ed Carmel, Craig Gaetani, and Joe Nichols.

In Ward 7, Anthony Maffuccio is facing a challenge from J. David Pope.

Kevin Morandi is running unopposed in Ward 2, and Nicholas Caccamo is unopposed in Ward 3. City Clerk Michele Benjamin is running unopposed as well.

There are also seven candidates running for six school committee seats. The candidates are Daniel Elias, William Cameron, Mark Brazeau, Katherine Yon, Thomas Perrea, Dennis Powell, and Alison McGee.

The drawing for the placement order on the preliminary ballot takes places today (August 8th). The city’s Preliminary Election in on September 17th. The General Election is November 5th.
