This grant program is in addition to Pittsfield’s COVID-19 Economic Relief and Recovery Small Business Grant program which has already assisted 63 businesses, including 17 Pittsfield restaurants.

On Friday, Apr. 17, Mayor Linda Tyer formally announced the City of Pittsfield COVID-19 Economic Recovery Program.

Mayor Linda Tyer has announced that the City of Pittsfield will extend payment deadlines for city tax bills in response to new legislation passed by the state’s legislature and signed into law by Gov. Baker to support to those economically impacted by COVID19 in communities throughout the Commonwealth.

Existing modified staffing schedules for city departments will remain in place until this date.

As part of the City of the Pittsfield’s ongoing mitigation efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19, which includes reducing the gathering of individuals in public settings, community members are strongly encouraged to utilize the city’s online services to manage their business needs.

With COVID-19 now recognized as a global pandemic, and with the City of Pittsfield and parts of Berkshire County now impacted, Mayor Linda Tyer announced Thursday morning during a press conference that a local Emergency Declaration was in immediate effect for Pittsfield.

The City of Pittsfield was awarded $95,000 through the state’s Urban Agenda Grant Program, funding that will support workforce development in the city.

The candidate list for the city of Pittsfield is now official and it’s a full slate of races. There are four candidates running for Mayor including incumbent Linda Tyer, retired police officer Karen Kalinowski, Councilor at Large Melissa Mazzeo and Scott Graves, who owns the Rusty Anchor.
