It Could Cost You If You Don’t Clean Up After Your Dog In Adams
If you live in the town of Adams, or anywhere really, you likely know that you need to clean up after your dog when they do their business. However, depending on where you do live, you can actually be fined for not picking up that doggie poop.
A reminder from the Adams Police Department...
So, as we make our way ever so slowly toward spring, the Adams Police Department is reminding residents of the town, that if you bring your four-legged friend to a public place, you will indeed be expected to clean up after them. The department posted a reminder on its Facebook page of the town statute that makes that fact clear. If you are found to be in violation of that statute, you can be fined.
Here's the cliff notes version of the statute, and then we will look at it in full as stated by the police department:
The statute basically says that if you are in a public place and your dog, or the dog you are in charge of poops, you are responsible for immediately cleaning it up. There are certainly some nuances to consider. The statute does not apply to a guide animal that is in performance of its duties being of service to a disabled person. If you are found to be guilty of not following the ordinance, you will be fined $50 for a first offense, $100 for a second offense, and $300 for a third or subsequent offense.
